Detailing

Jim, the seller, sent the car to have a very good detail on Friday. He is paying for a scratch and dent removal/Clay Bar/Wax/Detail on the car. Will look even better when he gets it back around 10/30. Will post some more pictures at that time.
Figured I would upload some pictures for everyone to see, as we have not done that yet.

So, the trunk situation may be worse than we thought. The car has a (now disconnected) nitrous system. There are two nitrous bottles that come as part of the deal. So, the current thought is just to put them in the trunk. That looks something like:

For the math impared. That's roughly 3.6 cubic feet left for "luggage". o_O

Damn you rotors

So, we got some pictures of the damage on the rotors. Not terrible, but I think its fair to say that it is looking less and less inviting to go on a road trip on these...

So, these cars advertise roughly 5.5 cubic feet of space in the trunk. Thats kind of worrysome, considering that we're doing a two day road trip across nearly 1800 miles.

Tools. Food. Clothes. Some accessories. 5.5 cubic feet....

Damn!

So, Brian got the Pre-Purchase Inspection details back from the Acura dealer. The seller was really nice about it, and actually paid for it out of his pocket.

So, the results of all this, is that nothing is too bad. The only real thing of concern is the micro-fractures on the rotors. We are going back and forth as to whether this is something that we really ought to worry about.

Hopefully I can get Brian on this to start commenting on his own flippin' thoughts about this stuff. We may just change the rotors before we go. Luckily they are relatively cheap at ~$60 or so.
So here is the blog which I hope to use to document the crazy trip we have planned.

'What trip?', you, the intrepid reader may ask...

Well, Brian has been eyeballing a used NSX. The NSX is a super car built by Acura from 1991-2005. They've since stopped production, and killed any plans in the near future for any successor.

So, like I said, he's been eyeballing one for a while. He ended up finding one, and happened to be going on a business trip out to the San Francisco bay area, where the car was located. He test drove it, fell in love, and the rest is, as they say, history.

So, we are planning on picking up the car on November 13th, and driving it nearly 1800 miles in two days, to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Holy freaking crap.
